Work Environment

You will work from our office in Uppsala or Vantaa, with the possibility for remote work in line with our policies.

Responsibilities

As a Cybersecurity engineer at Thermo Fisher, you will have the opportunity to work on a range of important responsibilities, including:

  • Collaborate with developers and operations teams to integrate security practices into the software development lifecycle

  • Perform security assessments and implement risk control measures

  • Assist with compliance and risk management activities

  • Contribute to the specification of product requirements related to anti-virus, encryption standards, patching capabilities, and sensitive data handling

  • Assist in the preparation of training materials for personnel involved in the security and deployment of our laboratory products and systems

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related fields (equivalent experience will also be considered; a graduate degree is desirable)

  • At least 3 years of work experience as a security engineer or in an equivalent role

  • Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle

  • Familiarity with medical/in-vitro-diagnostic equipment and associated software

  • Understanding security principles and effective approaches

  • Experience with security tools and technologies (e.g., firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, vulnerability scanners)

  • Familiarity with Agile and DevOps methodologies and CI/CD pipelines

  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as PowerShell, Python, Ruby, or Perl

  • Experience as a DevSecOps Engineer or certification as an Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) are strong merits
